Boxing Fundamentals

Boxing Fundamentals is for all skill levels, whether you are new to the sport or a seasoned vet.

This group class provides the basic overview of boxing fundamentals like stance, defense, proper punching technique, footwork, and more.

Class begins with a warmup followed by drills, station work, and endurance building exercises (aka RUNNING).

You can expect everything from shadowboxing and partner drills to sharpening your skills on the heavy bag, slip bag, speed bag, double-end bag, and punch mitts in this class.

No sparring occurs in this class.

STRONGLY recommended that you take our Intro To Boxing class at 5:30pm on Monday if you have never boxed before or if you do not have a fluent understanding of the terminology above.

*You MUST provide your own hand wraps and boxing gloves. Due to the climate of COVID-19, hand wraps and gloves will not be provided to you by the gym. MCB sells hand wraps for $10 and gloves for $65..

Boxing Conditioning

Boxing Conditioning is the class for improving and building your boxing endurance.

Taught by Coach Lauren, this class will help improve your hand speed, punch power, reflexes and reaction time, while throwing combinations with more punch volume at a real-time fight pace.

It is vital for boxers to have top-notch endurance and cardio health, so be prepared to work harder than usual AND sweat harder than usual when taking this class.

While this class is for all skill levels, it is STRONGLY recommended that you have an understanding of basic boxing fundamentals and equipment/station familiarity before taking this class.

No sparring occurs in this class.

*You MUST provide your own hand wraps and boxing gloves. Due to the climate of COVID-19, hand wraps and gloves will not be provided to you by the gym. MCB sells hand wraps for $10 and gloves for $65.

Intro To Boxing

Intro To Boxing is a class for those who have never boxed, taken a boxing class, or need a refresher on the basics.

This class is designed to teach proper stance and basic fundamentals along with becoming familiar with boxing terminology and gym equipment.

The goal of Intro To Boxing is to become acclimated to the sport and the gym, so you will be ready to take the other classes offered.

It is recommended to take at least one or two of these classes before participating in other classes.

*You MUST provide your own hand wraps and boxing gloves. Due to the climate of COVID-19, hand wraps and gloves will not be provided to you by the gym. MCB sells wraps for $10 and gloves for $65.

Advanced Boxing Fundamentals

Advanced Boxing Fundamentals is a class for those who are in the process of mastering basic and intermediate fundamentals, and wanting to dive deeper into the intricacies of boxing.

Taught by amateur boxer and two-time national champion, Alan, this class teaches and practices advanced footwork, defensive countering, boxing theory, and situational drills by way of partner drills.

It also includes a dose of advanced strength & conditioning that are essential to the endurance and explosiveness of polished boxer.

STRONGLY recommended and preferred that you have developed an understanding of basic and intermediate fundamentals and terminology before taking this class.

**1-3-2 to the body, roll, 2, catch, block, cave, counter 3, lead angle, 1-2, jab out**

If the above did not make any sense to you then we recommend taking the regular Boxing Fundamental classes before trying this one. (Offered Monday mornings and evenings, Tuesday mornings, Wednesday evenings, Thursday mornings, Friday mornings, and Saturday mornings.)

Train Like A Pro

Train Like A Pro is a two-hour class for all skill levels, HOWEVER, it is not recommended for those who do not yet possess basic boxing fundamentals.

This class consists of extended fundamental circuits, conditioning, and sparring drills.

It is reserved for those who compete or are working towards competing.

One thing to always expect from this class is RUNNING. Want to compete? Then you better be comfortable running good-better-best miles (yes, three miles) throughout the training session. Didn't beat your previous mile time? Then you run a fourth.

This class is a true test of "how bad do I want it".

*You MUST provide your own hand wraps and boxing gloves. Due to the climate of COVID-19, hand wraps and gloves will not be provided to you by the gym. MCB sells hand wraps for $10 and gloves for $65.
